Founded by Eric Massey in the 1970s the business has recently been acquired by the Alto group as part of its diversification strategy, most of the existing employees who have many years experience have transferred with the business to complement and work with the new management team. The business offers daily collection and delivery services throughout the Northwest, North Wales, Yorkshire and the Midlands. The business also offers additional services from the site at Risley, including short- and long-term storage, loading and unloading of shipping containers, groupage collections and distribution of goods throughout the country. There is also a daily trunking service to and from the main ports on the Thames estuary in Essex. The modern fleet moves consignment sizes from 1 tonne to 1000 tonnes on a daily basis and all movements are fully visible via the state of the art GPS tracking system fitted to all vehicles, a new IT system gives customers access to real-time electronic PODs, meaning much less wasted time enquiring about the status of valuable product. All drivers are ADR trained meaning they are qualified to handle hazardous goods, all goods are fully insured and are carried under Road Haulage Association Conditions of Carriage. The fleet is modern and all vehicles meet the most recent emissions regulations, meaning there is no restriction on where they can operate legally.
