Duncan Place is a community space in Leith that was previously a Technical college and Resource Centre until it was closed down in 2013 over safety issues covering a wide range of Council Properties at that time. Since then the local community and the existing community resource centre workers saved the building from being knocked down and now have a safe, weatherproof building and a few volunteers going through the process of feasibility studies and business plans to re-open the building for the community as a non-profit organisation. It is early days but talks with the council architects and the business plan to obtain funding are proceeding well. Duncan Place is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), Scottish Charity number: SC048100
