The Burlesque Festival of Montreal is an organization directed by Scarlett James and friends. Their mission : expand Montreal' s interest in Burlesque through events, workshops, shows and other projects. Promotion of the art of the tease, community, passion, networking, transformation of self are the guide lines behind this Festival.Scarlett Spend her childhood in beautiful France with her Mother, by the ocean of Brittany. She studied Ballet classic and modern Jazz as a teen ager, admiring Dalida and her very dazzling outfits, Bigitte Bardot, May West, Sally Rand ,the american silver screen sirens on TV, movies with bombshell and Pin ups, Marilyn. Dreaming that one day she would have the chance to perform on stage in costumes as extravagant as these ones, create vintage styles and dazzle an audience All that while working in a jewelry store in a small city near by... This is fine job but very quiet! at 20, she wanted adventures, action, and above all glamour! So she left France for new horizons, Montreal.She went to college in fine arts, she a painter 3rd generation after her mother and grand father. But painting is not all she wanted to do. It was not enough. So she learned English, spanish, took theatre classes, acting classes, belly dancing , Travel a lot met new friends, made a new life and still looking for that ‘’je ne sais quoi’’.One day, good friends brought her to see a Burlesque show downtown and their it was, she had an epiphany ! That is it! all that she loved is package in it! Acting, dancing, amazing costumes, performances, travel, photography!She did her first show, the public opened their arms warmly,she fell in love, she was hooked!Ladies and Gentlemen, that’s how was born Scarlett James!

Oct 13 10am-12:30pm at Holy Trinity, everyone welcome! It is with sadness that we have had to suspend the remainder of our season, and therefore our spring concert in May. When we first cancelled rehearsals due to the COVID 19 crisis, we had hoped we would be able to reconvene in time to prepare a concert, albeit later than planned. However, with the unprecedented nature of this pandemic, it is obvious that the current distancing protocols will be in place for some time to come for the sake of health and safety of all. We hope that all members of the Echo community, be they active choir members, sabbatical members, audience, or other supporters and their families are staying well at this time. We look forward to being able to sing for you as the future unfolds. We are planning our next season with hope and enthusiasm.
