Duffy Malone is an independent advisory practice led by Jim MacMillan. We respond in moments when pressure is building and the situation is unclear, but leaders still have to decide what to do. The practice draws on decades of experience in journalism and institutional leadership, often in situations shaped by conflict, public scrutiny and complex ethical dilemmas. About Jim MacMillan Jim MacMillan is a journalist, educator, and leader who has responded to terrorist attacks, gun violence in the U.S., civil unrest, armed conflict abroad, natural disasters, and other traumatic events. He has been on the ground in these situations, made calls under pressure, and helped others respond as events unfolded. As founder of the Philadelphia Center for Gun Violence Reporting, he worked with journalists, researchers, survivors and institutions to improve how violence is reported and understood.
