Manson School District is committed to the goal of providing quality education for every student in this district. To this end, we want to establish partnerships with parents and with the community. Everyone gains if the school and home work together to promote high achievement for our children. Parents play an extremely important role as children's first teachers. Support for their children and for the school is critical to children's success at every step along the way.
St. Helena Unified School District provides student support services to address the emotional and social health of our students. Coordinated by Leigh Paris, a credentialed school counselor, our goal is to work as a team of professionals to provide services to those students who may be struggling in their academic and personal lives. Two main goals guide our efforts: to improve academic achievement, often by improving school attendance, and to reduce drug and alcohol use. Accomplishing these goals can require the stabilization of any number of complex factors that challenge, frustrate and threaten our youth. It also requires the coordination of schools, social services and agencies dedicated to youth and family well being. Teens may seek support services for themselves or be referred by others. Then, with their family's involvement, they may receive individual or family counseling and/or participate in group counseling following an assessment. They may also be referred to a full range of services available in St. Helena and Napa County.
Siuslaw Area Partnership to Prevent Substance Abuse , in collaboration with the community, provides substance abuse prevention education and information for youth and families to increase their awareness regarding the effects of alcohol and drugs.
