Drivers For Survivors Information

Mission: Drivers For Survivors provides free transportation service and supportive companionship, from suspicious findings through treatments, for ambulatory cancer patients that live in Fremont, Newark and Union City. The goal of Drivers For Survivors goal is to alleviate the stress associated with some of the more practical aspects of a cancer diagnosis, freeing those undergoing essential medical-related cancer treatments, to focus on their health. Because we have successfully increased our pool of companion drivers, we can now provide service to individuals while they undergo diagnosis for a possible cancerous finding. Even the suspicion of cancer qualifies you for services from Drivers for Survivors. DFS is now able to step in earlier to assist those in need at a vulnerable and traumatic time of their lives! As of March 2016, we have provided service to over 250 patients and given over 9000 rides since we have begun operation 3 1/2 years ago.
