Drift AI Information

Drift is an AI research lab working to improve AI adoption in public institutions and law firms delivering services to the public. We bring together applied AI research, engineering and experience building consumer businesses. We work on making services easier for people to understand and use, while addressing the practical challenges organisations face when introducing AI: compliance, professional oversight and integration with existing systems. Our research includes conversational AI as an interface for complex services. We explore how people can explain their circumstances in their own words, understand their options and move a process forward, and what organisations need to make these interactions reliable in practice. Our work includes developing TalBot, an AI assistant commissioned by IHK Berlin to support employers recruiting international talent, and strategy and growth work with immigration law firms. Our mission is to expand human agency: enabling people to understand their options, exercise their rights and make informed decisions about their lives. Through our public-interest initiative, Drift-ai.org, we provide migration information and access to independent lawyers. This work informs our research through direct experience with the people these services are meant to serve. Based in Berlin.
