One of the biggest shortcomings of storytelling in Kenya in film and television is the belief that we tell stories to teach a lesson, uplift morals, and respect religion. While really, we should tell stories just to reflect society truly. The more the society is laid bare in the story told, the more successful and revered by people that story is. Bold storytelling does not tell society how it should be; bold storytelling tells society how it is without being preachy. At D&R, we will strive to be bold storytellers.
