Saugatuck Public Schools offers a community recreation program through a dedicated millage supported by the electorate. The purpose of the program is to provide a variety of recreational activities for the students and community members served by the district. The Board of Education and Administration supervise the community recreation program and established an advisory board to review programs offered and other matters of direct concern to the program. The advisory board is composed of representatives of the City of Saugatuck, Saugatuck Township, City of the Village of Douglas, and Laketown Township in addition to a school administrator, coaching staff, and two community at-large members. The present advisory board members are: Sandra Lauer, At Large Member Bonnie Wilkins, At Large Member Erica Baarman, Saugatuck Township Jim Sellman, City of Saugatuck Dan Gibbons, Laketown Township TBA, City of Douglas TBA, Saugatuck Schools Coaching Staff Bill Dunn, Saugatuck Public Schools Administrative Staff The Monthly Advisory Board meetings are held at 7 pm., the 3rd Tuesday every other month (July, Sept. Nov. Jan, Mar, May) at the Community Recreation office.
