DOUBLE ELEVEN's mission is to create premium quality clothing that is priced affordably whilst reducing our carbon footprint to the bare minimum. As humans we will continue to consume, but how can we do so in a more responsible way? At DOUBLE ELEVEN we have chosen the more challenging path to produce clothing but we feel it's the right path. The garment industry is the 3rd biggest polluter on the planet (after fossil fuels and agriculture/livestock) and we decided enough was enough and needed to do things differently. We're not wearing a halo, we're simply making a change, because we know it's needed. We are trying to do everything and anything we can to reduce our environmental impact without compromising quality. We think this is the key; to assist in an easy, invisible transition to products that look, feel and wear, exactly the same as all the other good stuff you have in your wardrobe, but arrive with a significantly smaller footprint and at a better price. At DOUBLE ELEVEN, we are eliminating a plethora of inefficiencies and pollutants from the normal process in one fell swoop by repurposing premium deadstock, surplus or vintage fabrics. This means we don't have to make new textiles and consume yet more natural resources. Along with incredibly local sourcing, manufacturing and dyeing we are continuing to minimize our impact without compromising quality. By producing clothing this way and with your help, we can help eliminate the need to use; tens of thousands of gallons of water, pesticides and insecticides and chemicals for dyeing and finishing. Along with tens of thousands of hours of machine and human energy, and tons of CO2 emissions from the removal of having to transport new textiles. We want to help you save some money by giving you premium products at an affordable price but in turn we also want to help save; natural resources, fresh water, soils, communities, local jobs, energy, man power, time, admin, shipping, paper and in turn all their individual branches of energy and impact.
