Double Acre is an online platform enabling highly efficient trade in local food. We utilize a purchase-to-harvest model where farmers list their upcoming food availability and only harvest it once it's been purchased, reducing the waste associated with traditional grocery stores. Our system provides greater access to healthy, sustainable foods while allowing farmers to capture much more of the value of the foods they produce, adding stability to an inherently risky pursuit and encouraging new farmers to enter the market. Double Acre's mission is to: -Promote environmentally sustainable food production and distribution practices -Bolster local economies by matching local food demand with local food supply -Give small farmers the tools they need to achieve financial success -Create greater access to healthy, source-identified food for everyone
