Data continues to affirm that the state of Black families, marriages, and opportunities for wealth creation is at a critical crossroads. A lingering pandemic, online dating apps rooted in bias, and evolving cultural and digital norms have only amplified the existing challenges. Thus, it has become increasingly difficult for young Black Americans to form meaningful, lifelong relationships with one another. The DOTTIE platform creates space for Black professionals to socialize, network, and pursue relationships—and ultimately, marriage—which we view as a pivotal foundation to long-term career, community, and personal success. Members are in their 20s and 30s, talented and ambitious; discerning individuals who appreciate the power of cultural connection. DOTTIE aims to celebrate Black excellence, encourage Black unions and marriages, and ultimately build generational community equity. Building the world since 1619, now it’s time to build our own.
