Dothan Education Foundation Information

The Dothan Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization developed to provide Dothan City Schools (DCS) with funding to help pay for special projects that could not otherwise be funded with annual school budget dollars. The foundation was formed in 1995 and is operated by a local volunteer board that partners with businesses, civic groups, industry, education and community resources. The mission of the Dothan Education Foundation is to strengthen student achievement and motivation. It also seeks to improve classroom instruction, teacher morale, and build community support for our public schools. Since 1995, over $400,000.00 has been awarded to DCS teachers encouraging innovative teaching, directly improving instruction and strengthening student achievement. The foundation also works closely with school administration, parent-teacher associations, and other school groups to stay attuned to system needs and to promote system successes.
