Doppelstandard was founded in 2011 as a platform to that highly curates fun and cutting edge multinational designer labels with vintage pieces from Japan. In 2011, it began as Standard Vintage, an online Etsy store specializing in Japanese vintage clothing. But soon Andy the founder, developed a fashion concept that would merge the Standard Vintage idea with contemporary stylings, inspired by the street looks from New York and Tokyo. He decided to leave his corporate architectural design job so he could pursue his vision of a brand that combines the best of both aesthetics. The name Doppelstandard encompasses this “style paradox” that two seemingly opposed concepts, when joined together, can create a unique and elegant new street style.
