Like so many New Orleanians, Dixie Beer was pushed out of its hometown by Hurricane Katrina floodwaters. Now, more than a decade later, Tom and Gayle Benson have purchased the company with plans to bring Dixie Beer back home and back to a high standard of quality. Dixie Lager, brewed according to its original 1907 recipe, is now available across metro New Orleans, along with Dixie Light and Dixie Blackened Voodoo Lager.
