Distinctive homes was orignally established in 1989 by Thomas C. Terry, A licsensed Architecht with over 38 years in the industry. An Ohio state graduate, Tom recieved his Bachelors in Architecture in 1984. He studied along side several Frank Lloyd apprentices eventually serving his own apprenticeship under the former chairman of the Arizona Technical Board of Architects and Engineers. Tom has been working in the Prescott area and practicing architecture for over 30 years. Including 8 years of schooling prior, totalaling over 38 years working and designing in the industry. He and his team of talented employees have designed over 1000 homes representing over $700,000,000 in planned projects. He recently won The Fine Home Building Magazine, a national publication, 2014 People's Choice Award. This particular award was nationally published in the summer 2014 issue. Tom has personally designed one of the largest homes in Northern Arizona, at 26,000 square foot under roof. Distinctive homes has designed most models for the Prescott area's most successful builders, building hundreds homes to date which were designed by Tom. The value of these homes totalaling almost $60,000,000 worth of housing. He has also been published in other magazines and books, including Scottsdale magazine and the nationally published Fine Log Home Ideas magazine along with other Log Home magazines and National publications. We currently have projects in Arizona, New Mexico, California, Oregon, and Ohio. We have also received the energy efficient achievement of the LEED Gold Certification in Prescott, Arizona. As a Buisness owner Tom Believes the most important aspects to any project are designing homes sensative to the lot, topography, solar orientation, beauty, and budget. As an architect the most important aspects of his designs are to make living in the home a wonderful, beautiful experience and marrying the interior to the views and the exterior enviroment of the lot.
