Discourse LLC creates virtual learning and assessment simulations for medical, nursing, business and law education. Our suite of software tools provide a platform for assessment and analysis of critical decisions in high stakes endeavors. In the education industry there is one overriding requirement for success; it is not only what you teach, but also how effectively you teach it. Assessment is the key indicator of success in all endeavors. Peter Drucker posited this often-repeated dictum: “What gets measured, gets managed.” In forming Discourse LLC, founding partners Dennis Glenn, Richard Bell, M.D. and Rodrigo Cadiz, Ph.D. recognized that the rising cost of tacit knowledge transfer is reducing the quality and quantity of training, which in turn has many educators seeing a dramatic rise in their learners’ failure rates. The principal role our simulations fulfill is to give the worker/student a realistic evaluation of their decision-making ability in specific tasks, and to give management / faculty a benchmark analysis of gaps in the worker’s or student’s knowledge, either as individuals or groups.
