Disability North Information

Disability North promotes inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people in the region. Our vision is to be the best resource on disability in the North. We are a user led charity which works with, and for, disabled people, enabling them to increase the control they have over their own lives. Disability North works to support disabled people throughout the North East of England. Experience has shown us that regardless of a disability being from a lifelong impairment, an accident, illness or advancing age, people are usually poorly informed about disability benefits, welfare rights and the availability and suitability of assistive equipment. We know that the challenges disabled people face relate not only to managing and adapting to a health condition or impairment, but also to the associated financial stresses. It is our mission to advise and guide disabled people through these issues.
