Disability Essex (the Essex Disabled People's Association Ltd) was formed in 1949, pioneering the concepts of local support, self-help groups and clubs. Over the years, we have developed and adapted to meet the changing needs and aspirations of disabled people, reflected today in our access auditor training and the training we provide for other organisations. Given that the health of the environment has a fundamental impact on our operations, our beneficiaries and their surroundings, Disability Essex has made the strategic decision to integrate environmental matters into its core work and take advantage of the considerable opportunities that the environmental agenda offers.
