DigitalCNC is a machining intelligence company spun out of the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). Our software predicts how a specific CNC machine will run a part program, working natively inside the CAM systems engineers already use: Siemens NX, CATIA V5 and Mastercam. At its core is a deterministic, physics-based model of each machine's limits, including its kinematics, dynamic limits and controller behaviour. CAM programmers and application engineers can see where the machine will slow down, where toolpath geometry and tolerance will cause problems, and how the program can be improved, all before a single chip is cut. DigitalCNC goes beyond analysis. Recommendations draw on cutting tool supplier and machine tool builder best practice, and improved toolpaths are written straight back into the CAM operation, documented and traceable, with the programmer approving every change. The result is better processes, faster programming and engineers who learn as they work, from apprentices to time-served programmers. Built on 25 years of advanced machining research and validated across Heidenhain, Fanuc and Siemens controllers, our technology is used by OEMs and tier ones across aerospace, defence, motorsport, medical, nuclear and heavy industry. Customer data stays on their own systems. Pushing decisions left. Making machining predictable.
