The Digital Marketing Workshop at the Kelley School of Business, led by Dr. Brian Vander Schee, is a selective, credit-bearing program designed to prepare students for careers in digital marketing, analytics, and consumer strategy. As one of Kelley’s newest workshops, the program provides a focused, hands-on introduction to the evolving digital marketing landscape while building a strong foundation in both strategic thinking and data-driven decision making. Through a combination of coursework, industry exposure, and experiential learning, students develop an understanding of core digital marketing concepts including marketing analytics, consumer insights, and social media strategy. The workshop integrates guest speakers, company panels, and networking opportunities with leading organizations such as Claritas, NIQ, and Digitas, allowing students to connect classroom learning with real-world application. In addition to technical and strategic skill development, the program emphasizes career preparation and professional growth. Students gain access to recruiting guidance, alumni mentorship, and industry-recognized certifications, including HubSpot Digital Marketing and IU GenAI 101, helping them build a competitive foundation for internships and full-time roles. The Digital Marketing Workshop is open to Kelley students and admits a highly selective cohort of approximately 25–30 students (freshmen and sophomores) each semester. As a new and growing initiative, the workshop is committed to developing the next generation of marketing leaders through a combination of academic rigor, industry engagement, and practical experience.
