Difficult Conversations© Difficult Conversations is a multi-award winning social enterprise offering experiential, multi-professional training to organisations and health and social care professionals to develop and enhance their confidence, skills and knowledge in order to have effective, compassionate ‘difficult conversations’, where they really count. Our unique, multi-professional training model is GMC endorsed and developed by experts. The format is highly interactive and provides innovative blended-learning with a well-liked communication framework. Clinicians have difficult conversations every day in their consultations in order to involve people in decisions about their care. Our training improves the experience of both professional and the patient or carer involved. Common themes our teaching addresses: • Essential points to cover in personalised care planning • How to identify frailty and end of life via clinical judgment • Telling people they are seriously ill or dying • Discussing ‘how long have I got to live?’ • Handling anxious & upset families • Dealing with a frustrated patient or someone breaking down • Assessing capacity & gaining consent • Legal documentation around personalised care planning and discussions around eg, resuscitation & DNACPR, ADTR, Lasting Power of Attorney • Motivational communication to enable lifestyle changes for cancer prevention We provide customised group training to help you build a safe, high-performance culture for your organisation.
