De Dierenbescherming is met een achterban van bijna 200.000 mensen (leden, donateurs en vrijwilligers) de grootste organisatie in Nederland die opkomt voor de belangen van alle dieren. Onze asielen bieden jaarlijks onderdak aan duizenden dakloze dieren en de Landelijke Inspectiedienst Dierenbescherming ziet toe op naleving van de wet op het gebied van dierenwelzijn. Naast deze directe hulp aan dieren, besteden we aandacht aan voorlichting en educatie. Maar ook ons lobbywerk is belangrijk. We beïnvloeden wet- en regelgeving op het gebied van dierenwelzijn, niet alleen op gemeentelijk, provinciaal en landelijk niveau, maar ook internationaal via ons lidmaatschap van Eurogroup for Animals. De Dierenbescherming is geen overheidsinstelling en is 100% GIFT-afhankelijk. Jouw steun is daarom hard nodig!

AAP rescue centre for exotic animals AAP strives for a better future for exotic animal like primates, big cats and other exotic mammals. Unfortunately, we keep finding too many animals in difficult situations. They are illegally traded, misused as pets or mistreated in the tourism and entertainment industries. AAP’s approach is preventive, looking for long-term solutions to all these problems: informing the general public and making the case for better animal legislation in Europe is the first step. We rescue animals in need of urgent help so that they stand a chance to a better life. Our team helps them to become healthy and to ‘learn’ how to be an animal again, while looking for a permanent housing solution. That way we can make room in our rescue facilities in The Netherlands and Spain for new animals. Sharing our knowledge and working together with similar organizations such us the members of Eurogroup for Animals multiplies our impact.
