Diagnostic Pathology was organized in 1987. Since that time, Diagnostic Pathology has evolved into a practice with three board certified Pathologists, Dr. Edward Proctor, Jr., Dr. Charles Walls, Jr., and Dr. Melanie (Lesa) Hopkins. These pathologists are all board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as subspecialty certification with Dr. Proctor certified in Forensic Pathology, Dr. Walls in Dermatopathology, and Dr. Hopkins in Cytopathology. These are discussed in regular meetings of the Cancer Committee and Tumor Board to help provide a multidisciplinary approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment for all cancer patients.
