DHarleydata.com was established in 1986 to provide networking services to the pharmaceutical industry. Our first client was Merck & Co. Inc. where we helped upgrade more than 5,000 users from a dated and failing Token Ring (Netware) environment to a modern, state of the art Ethernet platform. This large project involved more than 2 years of on sight time, hundreds of thousands of feet of Ethernet cable and replacing more then 50 NetWare File Servers with Microsoft platforms. Our early success at Merck's Lansdale campus was well noted in the Delaware Valley and soon other big Pharma players came knocking, including Rhone Poulence Rhorer where we migratated their global database platforms from NetWare to Windows. Our work at RPR also included our first foray into staffing services, where we placed 2 of our key employees at RPR in Collegeville to oversee and manage the migration process and assist with documentation.
