Development Microfinance Limited (DMF) is a Company limited by shares. . It was founded in 2003 initially operating in Eastern Uganda to improve the livelihood of marginalized households and financially enabling them to turn economic opportunities into fortunes for economic and social empowerment. In pursuit of its vision, mission, founding objectives, and sustaining current achievements, DMF has prepared this business plan to guide the organization in the next five years. The plan was a result of strategic workshop for the Board of Directors, Management and staff. Over the years the DMF has continued to grow and develop as a dynamic and changing organization. Accordingly, this business plan is aimed at building on this momentum to accelerate growth, expand outreach and strengthen governance, management and controls. The company since inception has served 27,586 clients and its current outreach is 3300 active clients with a loan portfolio of UGX 5.15 Billion. DMF has built its own head office, expanded branch network to nine and has grown its total assets to UGX 7.8 billion while sustaining year on year profitability. The strategy for DMF over this business plan horizon is to sustainably grow its clientele and Loan portfolio, increase physical presence in its market niche areas through branch network and enhanced branding visibility while increasing the livelihood of its clients for a better living and promoting enterprise development.
