Over the past 50 years, Design Housing has designed and built nearly 800 distinctive apartments, condominiums and houses. These homes are widely recognized for their quality, value and attention to detail. While the design and construction of new homes remains our core business, we have responded to the evolving needs of today's families by our commitment to multi-generational housing: the design and construction of comfortable, safe and attractive housing solutions for caring families with aging parents. The catalyst for our entry into this specialized field was personal. When Arnold Soloway, our founder and chairman, lost his beloved wife of 56 years, he found himself unhappy living alone in an empty house. After reviewing all other housing options, his solution, with his daughter's active encouragement, was to build a custom addition to his daughter's home. The addition gives Arnold privacy, comfort and closeness to his family while providing peace of mind for his daughter and adding to the value of her home. Based on this experience and markedly changing demographics, Design Housing has focused on helping families with aging parents find practical housing solutions that provide a nurturing environment and rewarding family experience.
