There is an increasing awareness of the usage of Digital Elevation Models within the geospatial industry. Similar to the Imagery awareness before the launch of Google earth, DEM are also at the stage where the user is more aware of the availability of high quality and accurate DEM. This increased awareness is mainly attributed to the launch of newer optical satellites, extraction of DEM from Radar in cloudy areas and launch of UAVs to collect and present such types of data.
