Derek Casing Services runs casing and tubulars for operators across Western Canada. From bases in Red Deer and Grande Prairie, we put 25 crews and 22 tong trucks on location ahead of casing point, with dispatch answering 24 hours a day. What we run: - Conventional and integral casing running: full-line power tongs for 2 3/8" to 20" tubulars, independent hydraulic power units and 1,000+ pieces of handling equipment - Volant CRT: rotate, reciprocate and circulate casing to get strings to bottom in difficult wells - Computer torque-turn monitoring: every connection made up to manufacturer specification and documented - Steam thread cleaning: inspection, vacuum drifting, steam washing and a digital laser tally delivered in Excel, with no solvent on lease Every connection is run, recorded and reported, so company men and engineers get a clean record of what went in the hole. Safety is how we work. We hold a Certificate of Recognition (COR) and complete annual audits to keep improving our health and safety program. Founded in 2011 with one unit and one power tong, DCS grew through three acquisitions and by bringing on some of the most experienced hands in tubular running.
