Depozitarul Central is the Romanian Central Securities Depository (CSD) and one of the most innovative depositories in Central and Eastern Europe. It provides clearing and settlement services for trades executed on Bucharest Stock Exchange, as well as DVP settlements for international securities registered in 17 markets, in 10 different currencies. Depozitarul Central is the registrar of about 2000 companies. It is the National Numbering Agency for Romania and a member of ANNA (International Association of National Numbering Agencies) and ECSDA (European Central Securities Depositories Association). Depzitarul Central is one of the pioneers in the Target2 Securities (a project coordinated by the European Central Bank, having the objective of building a pan-European settlement platform) and will be part of the first migration wave.
