By 2030, it will be worth between 16 and 17 trillion dollars. One of the largest industries in the world. Yet it sits second from bottom on McKinsey's digitisation index. Bringing construction to the forefront of digitisation: an ambition, or a necessity? The problem is not a shortage of data. The information that decisions depend on already exists. Product specifications, performance data, sustainability attributes, standards, regulations and decades of expertise are there. Yet this knowledge lies scattered across disconnected systems, inconsistently verified and impossible to trust at scale. This is not a problem an application can solve. It sits one layer deeper, in the structure of the knowledge itself. Depixen works at that layer. We build the taxonomies, ontologies, RDF-based knowledge graphs, validation rules and semantic relationships that turn dispersed AEC information into knowledge that is machine-readable, source-verifiable and contextually connected. ArchiPick_OS is the first system built on it, beginning with suppliers, because trustworthy decisions begin with trustworthy information. Yet this foundation is not bound to a single product. The same infrastructure that serves professionals also defines the conditions under which artificial intelligence can operate reliably here. Probability alone does not make a model trustworthy. Statistical similarity is not accuracy. Any system reasoning about the built environment, whether a large language model, a retrieval architecture or an autonomous agent, depends on information that is verifiable, traceable and semantically structured. That foundation does not yet exist for AEC. We are building it. Its value grows not with every new dataset, but with every verified one. Each validated source strengthens a shared structure on which people and machines alike can rely. The next stage of digital transformation in this industry will not be defined by more data. It will be defined by knowledge that can be trusted.
