The ECO DRUM square fibre drum was patented by DENSA AG, whose story began back in 1907. That was when Bühler-Kähny AG (later known as Fass-und Kistenfabrik Basel AG) founded a mechanised wooden barrel factory that soon started manufacturing fibre drums and plastic barrels as well. The space-saving ECO DRUM was developed to increase transport efficiency. Thanks to the enormous processing-related advantages it provides, the ECO DRUM was quickly able to position itself in the market and enjoys a large market share today. DENSA AG is focussed on the major market players in the chemical and food industry, but can also produce smaller lot sizes profitably thanks to its efficient and automated manufacturing process. DENSA AG is subject to the DIN EN ISO 16106 standard – Transport packages for dangerous goods – dangerous goods packagings, intermediate bulk containers and large packagings – and is certified according to SN EN ISO 9001:2015.
