Most of our work is with repeat customers but we are always open to expand our base.

Owned and operated by Cray and Kathy Gunn since 1997, Custom Carpentry Group is a Carrboro, North Carolina design/build construction company specializing in residential additions, remodels and renovations as well as commercial upfits. Cray, a Carrboro native with over 30 years experience, is a skilled general contractor as well as a talented designer. This combination makes Custom Carpentry Group uniquely qualified to blend the beautiful and practical, creating original spaces that fit our clients' individual needs. Kathy, a Durham native, oversees operation at CCG. She wears many hats in her role. Her main focus is on building and maintaining customer relationships. She can often be found on the job site, making sure the clients are happy and that things are running smoothly from their perspective. In the office, she handles all of the scheduling, invoicing, bill payments and bookkeeping. In addition, Kathy is a talented designer and enjoys working with clients on design features such as lighting and plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, countertops and paint colors. Kathy can organize new or existing space to make life less stressful and more enjoyable for her clients.
