In 1904, Alpha Kappa Psi was founded on the principles of educating its members and the public to appreciate and demand higher ideals in business and to further the individual welfare of members during college and beyond. The distance between dreaming and being is a gap far too wide to cross alone. As a women's organization, Kappa has helped many women get from here to there. For more than one hundred forty years, we’ve provided programs, leadership opportunities and most importantly, the unwavering support of loyal sisters to help our members cross that bridge from dreams to reality.

The purpose of this sorority shall be to unite its members in the bonds of sincere and lasting friendship, to stimulate one another in the pursuit of knowledge, to promote the moral and social culture of its members, and to develop plans for guidance and unity in action; objects worthy of the highest aim and purpose of associated effort.
