DELTA provides the ability for the user to create custom report templates. Most users .use on of the many supplied report templates and modify it by altering the report name, adding the name of their organisation , adding additional items to be printed, altering the number of decimals in some fields or adding calculated or conditional fields that calculate new values based on information already available. For instance DELTA's system suitability reports perform all of the necessary calculations as well as detecting and flagging erroneous conditions. One of the more common uses for the report writer capabilities is in quality control where certain results are checked to ensure that they are within acceptable bounds - flagging results that fall outside those bounds. Context sensitive help down to the field level is always at hand, just press F1 if you need help. DELTA export results directly to it's built in Excel compatible spreadsheet for performing custom calculations or merging with data from other sources. Power users can use DELTA's powerful 'Calculated Components' to avoid having to export results to spreadsheets for further calculations. In one case QC testing of LPG gas samples for total octane; from trucks leaving a facility was reduced from a two hour laboratory exercise to a 2.5 minute procedure performed by the truck drivers who simply connected their gas bomb to a compact high speed GC, entered their truck number, flicked a valve and subsequently had their QC report in hand two minutes later as they left with their load. The time and money saving to the company was enormous. The DELTA event log keeps track of method changes and other important system events. If security has been enabled the log will also tell you who made the changes as well as recording user log on, log off etc. DELTA can be configured to purge the event log automatically at regular intervals.
