We are a modern zoological institution founded in Quintana Roo in 1990, specializing in the professional care and interaction with marine mammals. Our work integrates science, research, animal welfare, environmental education, and conservation, supported by a multidisciplinary team of veterinarians, marine biologists, and Animal Care Specialists. We hold international certifications in animal welfare and management, including American Humane Certified, as well as certifications and accreditations from AMMPA and IMATA. We develop preventive medicine, environmental enrichment, and positive reinforcement-based training programs. The generation and exchange of scientific knowledge are an integral part of our history. We collaborate with universities and academic institutions on research and exchange programs related to the conservation, health, management, science, and welfare of marine mammals, including UNAM, CINVESTAV, UABCS, the University of Barcelona, the University of Cambridge, Chicago Zoological Society, UADY, and CICY, among other institutions. We are also members of specialized organizations such as AZCARM, strengthening the exchange of knowledge and expertise within the sector. We participate in the Quintana Roo Marine Mammal Stranding Network and have removed more than 21 tons of marine debris through beach cleanup initiatives. Through our Educational Visits Program, we have brought knowledge about marine life and conservation to more than 137,000 students and teachers. We are also the creators of the Festival de los Océanos, Mexico’s largest environmental education festival. We have been recognized as a Socially Responsible Company for 22 consecutive years, according to CEMEFI methodology. Our commitment is to generate knowledge, promote animal welfare, and contribute to the conservation of marine ecosystems, making visible the professional work we carry out every day.
