DEFERRARI+MODESTI Information

DEFERRARI+MODESTI is an architecture and interior design studio founded in Florence in 2010 by Javier Deferrari and Lavinia Modesti. We develop projects of different scales and typologies, with a particular focus on residential, hospitality, retail, workplace, museum and temporary exhibition spaces. For each project, we look for a specific response to the place, the programme and the client’s needs, working through space, materials, light, colour and bespoke furniture. We work with private clients, institutions and companies, including Le Gallerie degli Uffizi, the Archaeological Museum of Florence, Targetti, Castelfalfi, Castello Banfi, Marca Corona and Mirage. Our projects have been published by international magazines and platforms and have received national and international awards. Alongside our professional practice, we are also actively involved in academic leadership. Since 2017, we have coordinated the Interior and Furniture Design programme at IED Firenze, where we oversee the academic direction of the interior design department and its educational development.
