DeepMed IO Information

DeepMed IO is a MedTech Manchester based start-up. We focus in oncology and our mission is to develop AI tools for increasing the accuracy and speed of diagnostic processes, ultimately improving patient outcomes. We have received NHS funding to develop a system for detecting metastatic regions on lymph node Hematoxylin & Eosin stained Whole Slide Images, initially for melanoma, as well as breast, lung, colon and prostate cancers which account for more than 50% of all cancers globally. Our alpha-prototype achieved 53% decrease of diagnostic time and a concurrent 4.6% increase in diagnostic accuracy in a pilot clinical evaluation with lymph nodes from breast cancer patients. Upon completion this system will become part of a larger modular deep-learning powered decision support tool that will transform diagnosis in pathology.
