Decaneas Archive is the new business name for Panopticon, Inc. - a high quality custom photo imaging lab and photo gallery founded in 1971. The imaging lab was sold in 2007 to Paul Sneyd who served as darkroom manager at Panopticon, Inc. for more than 15 years. The imaging lab continues to operate in Hingham, MA as Panopticon Imaging. Panopticon Gallery was sold to Jason Landry in 2010 and continues to operate at Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, Boston, Massachusetts. Tony Decaneas and Jason Landry curated a collaborative 40th anniversary exhibition for exhibition at Panopticon Gallery during September and October 2011. Decaneas Archive serves as exclusive agent for the estates of Bradford Washburn (worldwide) and Vittorio Sella (North and South America). It also serves as representing agent for the photographers Harold Feinstein, Tony Decaneas, Mark Sandrof as well as for numerous historical archives including: The Boston Public Library, Historic New England and the New Bedford Whaling Museum. This company served as exclusive agent for Ernest C. Withers from 1990 through 2010 and working with Ernest C. Withers, oversaw the production of the only signed archival silver gelatin prints made by this extraordinary photographer. Decaneas Archive continues to offer prints for sale from its collection of these original signed photographic prints. With forty years in the fine art photography business, Decaneas Archive offers all services necessary to bring quality fine art photography to the market place. This company has identified previously unrecognized bodies of work and introduced this work to the market place by publishing and packaging books, preparing solo and traveling exhibitions - both public and private - while simultaneously establishing prominent recognition for the artists it represents in the photography fine art market.
