Dear New Orleans, We once had a cocktail and coffee in the middle of the same street on the same day. The cocktail just before noon, the coffee just after midnight. There are more heart-pounding, breath shortening, pinch-me-is-this real moments here than any other City that we’ve lived in. And when people said you were over–during the dark post-Katrina days of no people, music or romance–the world rallied around you. Some say the the first three months of 2010–the Saints winning the Superbowl, a landslide united electorate around a new mayor and “best Mardi Gras in the history of the City” has changed the tone of your story. We believe that your people–those who’ve lived and loved here and those who visit and wish they could stay longer–make you you. We also believe in the power of beautiful images and a simple messages of our love for you. After our voices, our hands tell the stories of lives. It’s fitting, that the most powerful and effective way we could think of telling you how much you mean to us is to go to new, amazing and diverse locations inside your City limits with a camera and sharpie. We don’t say much. Don’t have to. We just ask people, “Write your love note to New Orleans.” And for nearly all of them–it’s the easiest thing they’ve ever done. You had them at hello. –Dear New Orleans, LLC. //fine art photography company with a universal twist.
