De NOB is de beroepsvereniging van universitair opgeleide belastingadviseurs. De NOB werd opgericht in 1954 en heeft momenteel ruim 5000 leden. Die werken bij 400 verschillende kantoren: grote zowel als kleine. Voor heel uiteenlopende cliënten: van multinational tot lokale overheid en van MKB-bedrijf tot vermogende particulier. NOB-leden zijn gebonden aan strikte interne beroepsregels en aan een eigen tuchtrechtspraak. Als belastingadviseur dienen ze voor alles het belang van hun cliënten, voor wie ze – altijd binnen de wettelijke grenzen – een fiscaal zo gunstig mogelijk resultaat proberen te bereiken.
