We are not going to claim that working for an independent, family brewer like Duvel Moortgat is as spectacular as landing on the moon, but it is nevertheless very special. We have been brewing for four generations now, since 1871. Since the very beginning our family is devilishly possessed by the quality of every drop, every barrel and every bottle of the 1.4 million hectoliters of specialty beer that we produce annually. We use the best, natural ingredients, with a great deal of patience and respect for the planet.
Almost 1,400 colleagues (soon 1,401?), from Puurs to Shanghai and from Lyon to Cooperstown, Kansas City and Paso Robles (USA), apply themselves enthusiastically to their task every day. We even achieved a top-ten place in the list of Belgian companies with the best reputation. #Proud. Maybe it’s the scent of Duvel in the air, maybe it isn’t half bad to work here. Just come and check it out. With gems like Duvel, La Chouffe, Liefmans, Maredsous, De Koninck and Vedett, we can captivate fans of specialty beers both in and beyond Belgium.
De Halve Maan is a family brewery located in the heart of Bruges. Today, six generations have made their mark on what is now the taste of Bruges.
Xavier Vanneste, the sixth generation of the brewery, started the production of the specialy beer 'Brugse Zot' in 2005. The future of Brewery De Halve Maan was assured as this top-fermenting beer was an immediate success. He modernised the brewing installation and started expanding the brewery further.
Currently, our brewery has 4 strong beer brands. Very different styles, but they all share the values of our brewery. You might know our delicious Brugse Zot or our strong Straffe Hendrik. All beers are still being brewed in the city centre of Bruges. We use a selection of only the best ingredients.
Our beers are not only being enjoyed in Bruges... Today, we ship our beers to over 40 countries and are thus represented on almost every continent.
Brewery Het Anker is a family-run brewery that has been brewing beer in Mechelen’s Grand Beguinage for six generations. During a visit with a guide you will discover one of the oldest breweries in Belgium. In 2010, the family farm in Blaasveld was turned into a whisky
distillery. Since then, Belgian whisky has been distilled there from the malt mash of the Gouden Carolus beers. “Batteliek” opened in early 2022: a micro-brewery, micro-distillery and lemonade factory in a former church. A wonderful place where you can enjoy home-made drinks in the restobar or during a creative workshop!
