DDR:UK Information

DDR:UK was founded in September of 2002. Over the course of a few weeks we looked into the fact that there was no dedicated centralised location for UK Dancing Stage players other than a few subsections on American and Japanese sites. We started off small, with a self written CMS code base which introduced a forum, and a news section. Eventually, the community on the website started to decline. People now used Facebook, Twitter and other social networks to interact with each other, and the forums became bare. The posts started to slow down, and content was harder to find. Rivalries between different communities and companies started to have an effect on the website, but help came too late to save DDR:UK’s once thriving community. During this time, the events boomed, we were attending more events than the staff could handle, and we were still being asked along to more, including recently some international venues. The decision came at the start of August 2010, to shut down the DDR:UK website in its old form, taking out the forum, on its 8th birthday on the 11th of September 2010. The decision came hard, and the focus became to push on forward at what DDR:UK had become great at, the events. DDR:UK is very unique in its event and games room organisation, as there isn't anything else like it out there within the UK.
