DD Innovation, Inc. is a biotechnology company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, which was initially founded under the name of UAS Laboratories, Inc. and renamed as DD Innovation, Inc. in 2014. The firm was founded by internationally recognized probiotic scientist Dr. S.K. Dash in 1979. Dr. Dash holds a Ph.D. degree in Nutrition, Microbiology and Biochemistry from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, USA. He had worked as the Director of South Dakota Food and Drug for more than 7 years before he established UAS Laboratories, Inc., a leading probiotic company. For the past 35 years, he has been a driving force behind an industry that has grown dramatically over the years. Growth of the Probiotic Industry has been fast and fierce. Probiotic sales comprised a small, $10 million slice of the supplement industry in 1979, but have grown into a projected $35 billion sector today. The Probiotic awareness increased from 5% in 2004 to 85% today. Probiotic products are now used in food, beverage and nutraceuticals and available for consumption worldwide.
