MSS, Inc. builds sensor-based separation equipment in Nashville, Tennessee. Since its formation in 1974, MSS has been designing, engineering and manufacturing optical sorting machines for many applications and companies in the recycling and waste management industry. The Rutland County Solid Waste District is a union municipal district formed in 1979 for the purpose of providing solid waste disposal services. Our Vermont member towns are Brandon, Castleton, Clarendon, Danby, Hubbardton, Ira, Killington, Mendon, Mount Tabor, Mt. Holly, Pittsford, Pittsfield, Poultney, Proctor, Rutland City, Wallingford, Wells and West Rutland.
REGIONAL TRANSFER STATION
We manage the Regional Transfer Station at 14 Gleason Road in Rutland, Vermont. Our disposal programs include household recycling, food scrap composting, scrap metal, hazardous waste, electronics, leaf & yard debris and general municipal solid waste among others.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
Do you want to improve your waste diversion practices? We give tours of our transfer and recycling facilities, presentations to interested groups, and technical assistance to businesses and residents for implementing projects.
