Davide Pedersoli & Co. Information

The history of the DAVIDE PEDERSOLI & C., founded in 1957 by Davide Pedersoli (1924-1996), starts with the manufacturing of hunting shotguns, over and under shotguns featuring a specific patent and also side by side shotguns. In 1960 we started the production of muzzle loading guns, which after ten years, took over as the predominant product of the company. In the 1973 the production of the traditional hunting shotguns was discontinued allowing us to concentrate on the production of historical muzzleloading guns and accessories plus expanding the powder flasks production which started in 1960, at the beginning of the muzzleloading phenomenon. Currently the company keeps its family character, managed by the son of Davide Pedersoli, Pierangelo and by the brother in law Giovanni Gottardi, also the education and training of the younger family members who will be the third generation of the Pedersoli family to control and operate the company. The year 1982 saw the starting of a new production autonomy inside the company for all of the wood and metal components departments involved in the complete finishing of the muzzle loading and breech loading guns. These are separate and independent departments that are able to pay attention to each specific gun's parts quality control. To the two principal departments for the barrels' and stocks' production, were soon added CAD-CAM machines to produce small parts and screws. The polishing and the assembling departments complete the production stages. The warehouse department stocks the many thousand of semi-finished and finished parts which can quickly supply both our factory manufacturing departments as well as dealer and customer orders. For the accessories we founded the U.S.A. (Universal Special Accessories) Company. Since the first powder flasks have been produced in 1960, long period of time passed, during which the accessories grew in number for several needs: cleaning, loading, sighting, carrying of the muzzle loading and breech loading guns as well as many other items needed by shooters. Several years ago the Davide Pedersoli Company opened its own indoor shooting tunnel to test new prototypes and for testing the accuracy of both guns and their loading methods, without outside wind being a factor. Also, the new and modern CAD-CAM systems we use are developed inside the company, giving us complete accuracy of duplication for each part drawing, a continuous quality standard and if necessary an immediate change or modification of a product for a quick answer to the world wide market's requests. The quality controls include ultrasound tests on the barrel's material, the resistance test, dimensional controls, as well as the working of the mechanical parts to reach the final inspection stage. In compliance with the Italian law for the guns production and sale, all the guns must go through the firing tests at the Banco Nazionale di Prova (National Proof House) in Gardone Valtrompia according to the C.I.P rules. The high pressure firing test is made to all the guns whether they are muzzle loading or breech loading, and it is one of the most sophisticated of qualifications tests, involving not only actual overload firing tests but also over 40 inspections for dimensional changes which would indicate the slightest flaw. Pedersoli's guns are covered by two years warranty from the purchase date for the mechanical parts. The spare parts are distributed in all the world by the various distributors, while Service Points in USA and Europe handle the warranty and non-warranty repairs. To assist both the customer and the dealer supplying correct spare parts, there is a multi-lingual book showing diagrams and part numbers of all the guns models. Any Pedersoli customer can count on our full attention and availability to explain and answer questions about the historical, technical and ballistic features of each gun we manufacture. At the moment of the gun's purchase the customer will find in the box, the video tape "A Future made of the past", a simple welcome message into the great family fond and proud of the work being done, where it is possible to watch the production heart of the company, the products range, the loading procedures, the shooting and the maintenance of the muzzleloading and breech loading guns. The video tape is available both in the PAL and NTSC system in the English , PAL for French, German and Italian languages.
