David Liddell Information

I am a 2010 graduate of the National Film and Television School where I specialized in a Masters in Cinematography, and studied under the tuition of renowned Cinematographers including Head Of Department Brian Tufano BSC, Sue Gibson BSC, Sean Bobbitt BSC, Stuart Harris and Nina Kellgren BSC. I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship from the Dewar Arts Awards supporting my fees. Before studying at the NFTS, I had already gained a 1st Class Honours in Film and Television Production at the RSAMD, Glasgow, and was working in the industry as both a camera assistant and as a Cinematographer on short films and experimental film projects. These included my undergraduate film HIKIKOMORI that I photographed. It was nominated for a BAFTA for “Best Short Film” and won Best New Work at the Scottish BAFTAS, Best Drama at the Royal Television Society Student Awards, as well as earning a Best Cinematography Award at Scottish Students on Screen. Other work has been screened at a variety of festivals including the Edinburgh International Film Festival/The Seattle International Film Festival/Encounters Short Film Festival. These shorts include ‘The Ice Plant’, ‘Lorraine’, ‘Paris/Sexy’, “Precipice’, ‘Baking With Mother’, ‘Let Me Show You Some Things’ and ‘The Flyer’. I am based both in London and Edinburgh and have experience shooting on a variety of drama, commercials and music promos on all major formats such as Super 16, 35mm, Arri D-21, Red and most broadcast cameras.
