DataSwitch Corporation was founded by Blaine Lowthorp and Bobbie Neff in 1980 to satisfy the market of the then-fledgling membrane switch industry. Originally a membrane switch manufacturer, DataSwitch needed the means to ensure that the switches shipped to its customers were top-quality. Mr. Lowthorp was determined that each piece shipped would have a long life and work reliably - all the time, every time - and designed equipment to test his company's products. The test equipment proved to be an extremely effective diagnostic resource, and our switches became recognized as highly reliable. Soon the testers themselves were in demand by DataSwitch clients for their own in-house Quality Assurance programs. Before long, Mr. Lowthorp and Ms. Neff decided to move from designing and manufacturing switches to concentrate on fulfilling the switch industry's growing need for test equipment.
