Darlo Play Centre believes that children are capable and active learners and we value the importance of middle childhood as a foundation for all later learning and development. We aim to support the children's growth, learning and development through the middle years by providing a safe and stimulating environment which encourages exploration, independence, creativity, self esteem and confidence through play. We value the importance of the family in the child's life and Educators create a welcoming environment where all children and families are respected. Darlo Play Centre aims to work in partnerships with families to encourage family involvement and engage in shared decision making. The families are included in the decision making processes' regarding the centre and the children, and open communication is at all times respectful and maintained. Educators also understand the importance of the school and local communities in the child's life and aim to create reciprocal and respectful relationships with them. Our educators are the foundation of our centre and every educator is acknowledged for the experience and diversity they bring to the Centre. Darlo Play Centre supports professional development in order for educators to further develop themselves professionally and keep up to date with the latest research. Educators regularly reflect on their practice to ensure that the needs of the children are being met. Darlo Play Centre educators are active advocates for the universal rights of children and this is done through everyday practice as well as within the community.
