Dane Glasgow serves as vice president, global product management for eBay Marketplaces, and brings more than 15 years of experience leading product design and development, innovation in search technology, and management to the world™s largest online marketplace. In his role, Dane focuses on delivering a compelling shopping experience globally for both buyers and sellers " from eBay™s homepage and search experience, to tailored verticals in the Fashion and Electronics categories, to an end-to-end selling experience. Working closely with eBay™s North American and European business teams, Dane and his worldwide team of product managers, designers, and data managers aim to surface the best deals, drive increased business conversion and grow customer satisfaction across more than 94 million active users and $62 billion in gross merchandize volume globally (2010). In December 2010, Dane helped lead eBay™s acquisition of Milo, a local shopping engine, and now manages the integration of Milo™s local commerce solution into the eBay customer experience. Dane previously served as eBay™s vice president of engineering, where his team brought an increased level of structure and depth to the eBay Global Product Catalog, an ever-growing master resource of structured data to categorize and manage eBay™s vast selection of inventory. Dane joined eBay in December of 2008 through the acquisition of Positronic, a company he co-founded in Seattle. Positronic developed a sophisticated machine learning and natural language processing platform in the finance sector. As Positronic™s chief technology officer, Dane set the software vision " driving the architecture and roadmap to achieve positive results.
